Meet Shalonda

Shalonda Webb was elected Councilwoman for 4th Council District on November 3, 2020, and currently serves as Chairwoman of the St. Louis County Council. In her short tenure, Councilwoman Webb has worked in partnership with residents, local businesses as well as federal, state, and local elected officials to create a more holistic plan for North County.

Several of her accomplishments include securing over $22 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding for the 4th Council District which includes $11 million to tear down derelict properties in areas such as Castle Point, Glasgow Village and Spanish Lake, $5 million to address food insecurities within District 4, $50,000 to fund domestic violence programs, and $6 million for the demolition of Jamestown Mall. Chairwoman Webb also secured an additional $6 million from the State of Missouri for the demolition which is currently underway and expected to be completed by Spring of 2024.

Councilwoman Webb began her career as a software engineer at the Boeing Company and over the last 25 years, her career has taken her to work assignments as far as Japan and South Korea. As the F/A-18 Mission System Engineering Program Hiring Focal, and an HCBU Recruiter for Boeing, Shalonda is directly helping to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace at Boeing. She is also the recipient of the 2021 BEYA – Black Engineer of the Year Modern Leader in Technology Award for her contributions to minorities and women in technology. Shalonda is a proud Phi Beta Kappa honors graduate of Fisk University, one of the nation's oldest Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) where she earned a B.S. in Computer Science. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from Washington University. Shalonda is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Her philanthropic endeavors extend to groups such as American Diabetes Association, Each One Team One; The Little Bit Foundation – Hygiene Drive, Rebuilding Together, and many others. Shalonda and her husband Steven are natives of Port Arthur, Texas and have lived in the 4th Council District since 1998. They are the proud parents of three sons: Steve, Jr., Sean, and Sterling.
